A loan of $550 helped to buy fabric, fasteners, adhesive and other supplies.

Maria's story

María is a widow. She has three children. Two of her children are still young but the eldest is an adult and works independently. María is a seamstress and has a small dressmaking workshop in her home where she works every day from very early in the morning.

María studied dressmaking when she still lived with her parents. She says that her eldest son worked to help her buy her sewing machines. María also used to work with a friend and managed to put together a little money to help her son set up her small workshop. Now María is a professional and works making drapes, sheets and tablecloths. She has shown herself to be a very responsible person as regards her commitments. She has a great desire to do well in life.

María is requesting a loan to buy different types of fabric. She will also buy fasteners, adhesive and other supplies that she needs in order to be able to continue working. She is grateful for the help that she is receiving from Kiva and Fundación Paraguaya.
