Lela is 37 years old. She lives in a small village in Lanchkhuti District with her husband, Zurab, her mother-in-law, who is a pensioner, and her two children (12 and 17 years old). Both of the children study in the village school. Lela is busy with her dairy farm. She has three milking cows and four calves. She produces dairy food like cheese, curds and yogurt, and sells it in the local open market. In addition, Lela and Zurab are busy with farming. They have a plot of land where maize and 400 nut trees are grown. Lela and Zurab work hard during spring and summer seasons to get a good harvest. They sell the harvested products in the local open market. According to government estimates, the family belongs to the vulnerable poor category and they get monthly social assistance in the amount of 125 Laris. The total average monthly income of the family is 500 Laris.
Lela requested a loan to cultivate her agricultural land . After cultivation, she will sow the maize. Lela and Zurab will work hard. After the seasonal work is properly done, they hope to get a larger harvest. This will increase their sales of corn. With the increased income, she will be able to reinvest in the family agricultural business and purchase additional household goods to improve her family's living conditions.
