Hamidc's story

Hamidc is 46 years old and lives in the town of Bugembe in the Jinja region of Uganda. He is married and has 4 children with 2 of them currently in school. For the past 3 years, Hamidc has been working hard to manage his poultry farm, which sells chicken. To help expand his business, Hamidc has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more chicken feed for resale, and will help Hamidc to generate greater profits and pay school fees for his two remaining kids. Hamidc hopes that in the future he will be able to educate his children up to the higher level. Hamidc is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Hamidc who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
