A loan of $850 helped to buy, wholesale and in cash, vegetables, supplies, and meat.

Merys María's story

After a short vacation in the town where her partner was working, Merys returned to the town of Soledad with a new business idea that allows her to offer new products to her loyal customers. Today, along with her husband, she has a lunch menu and a la carte items every day in the small space she has in her home. She still makes bread, puddings, and cookies, and alternates this activity with her restaurant, with which she feels very motivated and happy because her business is growing and she has continued to make the most of her strategic location in a busy area.

She used her previous loan to buy yeast, flour, eggs, sugar, and other bakery supplies. Today she is requesting a new loan to buy, wholesale and in cash, the vegetables, meat, and other supplies she needs to make the dishes she sells. This would allow her to have a stock of inventory, get discounts for quick payment, and offer a varied menu to her customers who have become accustomed to her delicious flavors every day.

Merys hopes that through Kiva many people will continue support the entrepreneurs so they can get ahead with their projects and improve their living conditions and those of their nuclear family: a message she wanted to give her lenders.
