La Chomba Group's story

The group Las Chombas consists of five hard-working entreprenurial women. One of the women, Juana Francisca, is 34 years old and has sold fruit, firewood, and staple grains from her home for 8 years. She will invest the loan in products to sell and the purchase of harvests. She has four children of which the two youngest, who are 15 and 16 years old, depend on her.

The other members of the group are Petrona who is 57 years old and owns a tortilla shop and has sold firewood and vegetables for three years; Ana Gabriela who has owned a small grocery store for seven years; Ana Maria who owns a small grocery store; and Fatima who sells vegetables, firewood, and electric household appliances.
