Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $2,125 helped to purchase livestock.

Saina's story

Siyne is 59 years old, widowed, and has raised eight children. An active person, Siyne was able to provide an education for her children; two daughters are teachers, and one of her sons is a builder. To provide for her family, Siyne has been raising livestock since 1982. She started her business with 10,000 somi (KGS); today her business includes 10 sheep with offspring, and the monthly earnings fron selling meat products comes to about 8,000 somi.

To develop her business further. Siyna has turned to Bai-Tushum & Partners for a loan in the amount of 100,000 somi (KGS) to buy more livestock. Siyna plans to invest the proceeds from the loan into the further expansion of her business.
