A loan of $575 helped to buy balanced feed to improve her business raising and selling animals.

Benigna's story

Benigna is 54 years of age, and is married with two dependent children. She lives in a small village in the district of Mórrope, which is located in the city of Lambayeque. The quality of life of the people who live in this area is relatively low, and they all have fairly traditional customs.

Benigna works raising, buying and selling animals. She raises her animals in pens located to the back of her home, and feeds them with rice derivatives such as polvillo (an animal feed made from rice), balanced feed such as purine, and corn and grass. She sells her animals every two weeks. Her husband works in agriculture and normally grows corn, and together they help their family to get ahead.

Benigna wants to buy more feed for her animals. She wants them to develop well so that they can be sold at a better price, and has therefore requested a loan of 1,500 nuevos soles from Edpyme Alternativa to help her meet this goal.
