A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase a sewing machine.

Sandra Elizabeth's story

Sandra is a member of Los Talvos communal bank. She lives in a community that is located in Valle en Cuenca parish. The area is surrounded by mountains that make the landscape picturesque, and offers numerous opportunities to get away from the city routine. The land is fertile, and so the region’s residents make a living from farming, raising livestock, and commerce. The residents also maintain their local culture and traditions.

Sandra is 20 years old, single, and lives in her parents’ house. Her parents make a living farming and raising livestock, and own the house where they live.

Sandra works in a sewing workshop, and has had a job there for 3 months. She works Mondays to Fridays from 8 AM to 5 PM. She is a professional in this activity, since she studied to be a seamstress and now sews for a living.

Sandra has been a member of her communal bank for 3 years, and will invest her new loan in the purchase of a sewing machine.

Her goal is to keep purchasing sewing machines so she can have her own sewing workshop in her home.
