A loan of $375 helped to buy merchandise such as sweaters, pants, sportswear, jackets, and other goods.

Jessica Pamela's story

Jessica is a very enthusiastic and above all very hard-working young woman. She is 21, and her home is located in Camana. The city of Camana is known for having some beautiful beaches. Farming is being developed, especially rice cultivation, and small-scale fishing is also done. As well, very delicious dishes are prepared, but the most well-known is the exquisite “chupe de camarones” (shrimp stew).

When Jessica has a little free time, she really likes to go for walks on the beach, as this is located near the city. She also likes to eat one of her favorite dishes, which is the very delicious “arroz chaufa” (Chinese-style fried rice). Due to her lack of financial resources she was only able to go as far as fifth grade of secondary school, but would very much have liked to have had a university degree.

Jessica works day by day in her shop selling clothing. She works in her shop around ten hours a day and may serve up to 20 customers per day. She believes that her business is doing well because she is very friendly and attentive to her customers, and especially because she offers quality products.

Jessica is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, as thanks to the help she has been provided she will be able to buy more merchandise for her shop, such as clothing for the winter season, especially sweaters, pants, sportswear, jackets and other goods. In this way, she will be able to offer more products to her customers, continue improving each day and strive to be able to make her biggest dream a reality: ”To have a larger company".
