Bernarda's story

Bernarda lives in the department of Masaya. She is married. Her immediate family is made up of her husband and her three children. She is a merchant and has owned a business (a convenience store) for 15 years. The store has been her means of work and thanks to that business, she and her husband have moved their family ahead. She started the business with her own capital and she makes cash sales. Currently she needs to invest in the purchase of rice, oil, beans, corn, sugar, corn meal, instant soups and sauces, juices, Ivory soap, toilet paper, sardines and salt, among other items for her store. For this reason she went to the office of Kiva´s partner, Ceprodel to request a new loan, a loan that will allow her to better stock her convenience store. She needs to restock often, she comments, since hers is a business that always rotates inventory quickly. She believes that the help that Ceprodel has provided her has played a big role in improving her business. She has received excellent service from Ceprodel and has succeeded in making her family more comfortable.
