A loan of $500 helped a member to buy fertilizer for her farmland.

Vanna's Group's story

Vanna, 30, is single and living in a rural village of the Mongkol Borey district of Cambodia. She earns a living as a tailor and rice farmer, earning a daily income of around 25,000 KHR to spend for daily expenses but is able to save only around 6,000 KHR each day. She has been in this business for ten years.

This is the first loan for Vanna's group of two female members. She is now leading her group to apply for a loan with Kiva's partner, VisionFund. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizer for her farmland and use a portion of it to buy necessary items for her tailoring business and fix her sewing machine. She hopes this loan will enable her to prosper her business and make a better living.
