A loan of $750 helped to buy animals and nutritionally-balanced feed in order to expand her business.

Rosa Marisol's story

Rosa is a 36-year-old mother who lives together with her husband and three children in a small village in the rural part of Tambogrande district. This area is known for its mango and lemon production. The only basic service Rosa's village receives is electricity.

Rosa's business is raising sheep, farmyard birds and pigs. She fattens the animals and then sells them in the local market. She has been in this business for more than five years and so has a good knowledge of the market. Rosa's husband is a farmer and she supports him in his work.

Rosa is requesting a loan for 2,000 soles as she would like to buy nutritionally-balanced feed with which to fatten her animals. She would also like to buy additional animals in order to expand her business. This investment will enable her to continue growing as a businesswoman and improve her quality of life.

Rosa is a selfless woman who is committed to her family. Those who know her hold her in great esteem. She is grateful to the people who will help her to achieve her goals through Kiva.
