A loan of $750 helped to buy fertilizer for his coffee and cocoa plants.

Fabián's story

Fabián is 58 years old. He separated from his wife three years ago and currently lives on his own in the house that he bought from his earnings as a farmer. He has been farming for 35 years. He has his own parcel of land that is located a half-hour away from his home. Usually he works alone, but during the harvest he hires his neighbors to support his work. His neighbors are laborers and are experts in harvesting coffee and cacao. However, it is still difficult to have to transport his crops to the wholesale centers that are an hour away from his village.

In the future he wants to buy a vehicle that will make it easy for him to transport his bags of coffee and cocoa, but at the moment his priority is to fertilize his plants in order to obtain a good harvest during June and July, since these are the most productive months.

This is his 7th loan with MFP, for which he is grateful, again, for the people who trust in his work and support his labor. Likewise, he his happy to be part of his communal bank, and enjoys working with his fellow members. With the 2,000 nuevos soles from this loan, he will buy bags of fertilizer to spread over his coffee and cocoa plants.
