A loan of $250 helped to purchase a tent.

Ibrahim's story

Ibrahim is a resident of Mariakani, Kenya. The town is located on the road that links two Kenyan towns. He is a married father of four children and runs a chair rental business which has been in operation for the last two years. He began the business from his savings. The chairs are normally rented to anyone who has a function that requires many seats. The charges are made per seat and this has proved a good source of income to Ibrahim and to others in the same business.

Ibrahim is applying for a loan of Ksh 21,100 to purchase a tent. This will enable him to provide services to people who would like to hold a function outside a room since they can sit under a tent. The additional income from this loan will help him purchase more seats. The challenge that currently faces the business is the high cost of transportation which in turn increases the cost of doing business. His ambition is to own at least 1,000 chairs.
