A loan of $175 helped to buy more bunches of bananas.

Yudaya's story

Yudaya lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with four children and all her children to school. She takes care of one additional family member (her sister's child).

Yudaya sells green bananas at the market on a retail basis. She works seven days a week. She has been in this business for the last two years. She has requested a loan of 400,000 Ugandan shillings from MCDT – SACCO to buy more bunches of green bananas. Her major business challenges are thieves and seasonality.

Yudaya is aspiring of seeing her business grow big so that she earns enough profit to buy a plot of land to build rental rooms and also to become a wholesaler. She lives in her own house and the family has access to electricity but has no access to piped water. Her major monthly expenses include school fees and medication.
