A loan of $3,375 helped a member to buy more sacks of charcoal to resell.

Mzimuni Group's story

Shomari, who is in his mid 30s, is married with one child who goes to school. He has several businesses. He sells charcoal and he has a shop for selling used items such as radios and TV sets, and he's been selling children's games on TVs for six years now. He works from 6.00 am to 9.00 pm daily and is able to make a very good monthly profit.
This will be his first loan from Tujijenge Tanzania, which he wants to use to buy more sacks of charcoal to resell. His dream is to one day be able to buy spare parts for motorcycles.
He will share this loan with his loan group "Mzimuni" which has a total of 16 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
