A loan of $5,000 helped a member to buy bananas for resale.

Anonymous Group's story

The representative of the business group Tuongozane is a brave entrepreneur who is also the group’s secretary. He is married with eight dependent children, six of whom go to school. He and his wife help each other in running their small business. He has been selling foodstuffs for 13 years, and displays his merchandise at the central market of Virunga. He started his business with his own funds, a small commission earned on the sale of land to a neighbor.

He will use this new loan to buy ten bunches of bananas, keeping half of the credit for his savings. He plans to bolster his working capital, pay for his children’s tuition and build a proper house.

He wishes to thank the Hekima MFI for helping the poor who cannot turn to traditional banks.
