A loan of $1,500 helped to repair the facilities at her business.

Vilma Esperanza's story

Vilma Esperanza is 63 years old. She has worked as a seamstress for many years, and so she is very well known for her excellent work, making clothing for children and adults. Vilma lives with her only son, who is now married, and so she works to pay her personal expenses and also to give a little help to her son for the household expenses. Vilma's business is located close to the house where she lives, and she wants to make some repairs [to her business] so that it will be more suitable for her. This is why she has applied to INTEGRAL for a loan, so that she can change the floor at her business location. She also wants to replace the steps at the entrance with a ramp, since she has difficulty going up the steps because of problems she suffers in her legs. With this she hopes to make the access to her work easier. Vilma is a very hard-working person who wants to improve her working conditions and thus be able to continue performing the work which has permitted her to advance.
