A loan of $2,125 helped to purchase clothing and shoes to sell wholesale and retail.

Raquel's story

Raquel is 36 years old and is originally from a town called Santa Catarina Mechocan. Raquel has sold clothing for the past 4 years and footwear for the past 5 years. One of the things she likes most in her business is to provide good service for her customers and to have all of her customer's orders on time. She sells her merchandise from her home and her children Luz Violeta, Juan Gerardo, and Rosa Cristine help her with her customers when she is busy by taking care of the house. One of the biggest learning experiences that Raquel had is that if she provided good service to her customers, they recommended her and this helped her generate more customers.

In speaking about the beginning of her business, Raquel comments that she first began to sell footwear by catalog and with her income and the help of her husband Gerardo, she was able to purchase clothing and begin a second business. Raquel is considered a special person because she always tries to be a better mother, wife, and manager of her business. Everything she does is for the benefit of her children, and they are the engine that drives her to continue on and never give up.

Raquel asked for a loan so that she can buy more footwear and clothing for sale via wholesale and retail. She gives thanks to the Vision Fund for helping her be able to continue running her business, and with her income she will provide a better life for her children.
