A loan of $375 helped to buy a table, chairs, and supplies to make food.

Martha's story

Martha is a hard-working, 35-year-old woman. She is a single mother of 3 children, to whom she offers love and an education. She lives in the home that she bought 10 years ago. It was built out of wood.

She gets up very early to make food for her children, and then she goes out to sell her food in front of her home, where she set up a table and some chairs so her guests feel comfortable. She has done this work for 2 years, since her husband left her and she had to take care of her children alone.

This is her second loan with Microfinanzas Prisma, and she is happy about having another opportunity to improve her business. She is grateful to her communal bank for allowing her to be a part of a supportive and united group.

With the 1,000 PEN from this loan, she will buy another table and more chairs. She will use the remainder to buy food to keep preparing the different dishes she offers.
