Khayriyeh's story

Khayriyeh is a 29-year-old Lebanese woman. She’s single and lives with her parents and four siblings. She, together with her father, manages the family’s household expenses while operating her business. She has been the owner of a detergents shop since 2010. She sells different types of detergents for floors, windows, glasses, toilets and home appliances. She also sells shampoo and shower gels. Her shop is located in her town where many customers from her community visit her to buy their needed products at good prices. Khayriyeh keeps on working very hard in order to maintain her family’s financial status at a good level.

Today, she is requesting to borrow a youth loan from Kiva Partner Ameen s.a.l to expand her product inventory of detergents and shampoos. She barely earns a fair income and she confirms that the loan will help her boost her sales and thus her income by 15%. One of her greatest dreams is to get married and have children; that’s why she’s in real need of amplifying her income in order to be able to make the needed savings for her wedding.
