Gulmira's story

Gulmira is 40 years old, married, and is raising four children, the youngest of whom is 9. Gulmira is a school teacher in the village of Ara-Kol. Gulmira breeds cattle as a supplemental source of income for her family. She started her business in 1997 with 5,000 som and, thanks to her hard work, today she has three cows, 45 sheep, one goat, and three horses, which bring her a monthly profit of 10,000 som.

In hopes of further developing her business, Gulmira applied to Bai Tushum & Partners for a loan of 130,000 som for purchasing sheep, which she will fatten and sell. Gulmira plans to invest the income from her loan in increasing her herd in order to pay tuition for her oldest daughter, Altynai.
