A loan of $900 helped buy rice, sugar, oil, and chicken.

Francisca Corina's story

In Rocafuerte district, members from the “Working for a Future” communal bank meet every 15 days. This place is characterized for its delicious candies prepared by locals that are well known in their country and friendly, and hardworking inhabitants.

Here, Francisca lives, is 31 years old, in a common law marriage, and has a 1 year old son that is her reason for living. Her husband is a security guard.

In order to help her husband with household expenditures, since he does not make enough with his salary, she requested a loan to build a small local in her home and stock it with groceries. She has had this grocery store for only 2 years but it has yielded lots of profits. She also raises chickens in her property. She works every day from 6am to 8pm in both activities. She is very happy because she will be able to maintain her home and family.

This loan will be used to buy rice, sugar, oil, and chicken.

This is her 5th loan with the communal bank and she is thankful for the help being offered.
