A loan of $2,475 helped to stock up on farm supplies, particularly seeds and fertilizers, for later resale.

Olga's story

Olga is married. She has been living in Kamenka for most of her life. In this primarily agricultural region of the country there are few employment opportunities. Most people in the region do farm work. Olga decided to focus on selling farm supplies: seeds, chemicals, plastic film for hothouses, etc.. Olga’s husband helps her in this business in every way. She and her husband have three sales points: one in Znamenka and two and Kamenka. Olga has been in this business for 11 years already. Her monthly sales volume from one sales point is presently around 70,000 UAH.

Olga has turned to Kiva for a loan in the amount of 20,000 in the hope to invest these funds into stocking up on agricultural supplies, such as seeds and fertilizers, for later resale. Buying seasonal supplies will allow Olga to increase her sales volume and earn an additional income, allowing her to continue growing her business. Olga does not want to stop there, and plans in the future to expand her business and sell agricultural machinery, mini-tractors etc.
