Jasiri Group's story

Afua is in her late 40s, single and the mother of one child who is in college. Since 2006, she has earned a living by running a food cafe. She works from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm daily and is able to make a small monthly profit. She is requesting her fourth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used her previous loans to restock her cafe and pay school fees, and has repaid all of these loans successfully. She plans to use this new loan to buy more supplies for her cafe and pay school fees. Her dream is to one day build her own house. She will share this loan with her group "Jasiri," which has 17 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.
