A loan of $4,275 helped a member to buy fish (12 packages).

Kimya Renove Group's story

The leader of the credit association is an ambitious and experienced entrepreneur. She is 37 years old and the mother of 6 young children who all study. Her husband is a civil servant who is employed in the public administration sector.

She sells fish. She displays her merchandise at the central market of Virunga. She started her business with funds received from her spouse. Later on, she benefited from additional funding in the form of basic credit from IMF Hekima. She has been engaged in these revenue-generating activities for 8 years. She has benefited from 5 loan cycles with the IMF Hekima microfinancing program.

The developing insecurity in the interior of the province and the unstable macro-economic situation due to fluctuating market prices constitute serious threats to the development of her business activities. This new loan will allow her to buy fish (12 packages), and she will invest the rest. The profits from her business allow her to pay her children's educational, clothing and food expenses. She would also like to watch her children grow up and complete their studies, and build a house.

The customer thanks Hekima for its actions in aid of the economic and financial emancipation of women of insufficient means.
