Mabongisi Ya Nkolo Plus Group's story

Rebecca is the leader of the Community Bank named “Mabongisi ya Nkolo Plus” which is composed of 15 members united in solidarity for receiving Kiva loans with the goal of developing their businesses.

Rebecca has been part of the micro-enterprise world since 1999 in the same business. She operates a general store to the west of Kinshasa. She has acquired solid experience in this area and works hard with good management skills in order to realize her dream of one day opening a cold room in her environment. She would also like to achieve financial independence through her business that earns her about US $100 per week. She works to the best of her abilities and uses her contacts so that she might achieve her goals. Rebecca is a trustworthy client of the MFI HOPE DRC, having eight times obtained and correctly repaid loans. She will increase her stock of merchandise with her next loan by buying cans, sacks of rice and sugar and milk and reselling them at a profit.

Thirty-five years old, Rebecca is married and the mother of four children, whose ages vary between 4 and 9 years old. Three of them attend school.
