Lela's story

Lela is 37 years old. She lives in a small village in the district of Gurjaani with her family, which consists of her son George who studies in the local school, her parents, her brother, sister-in-law and niece.

The family runs an agricultural business. They have two dairy cows and two calves. In addition, they have a vineyard where 700 vines are grown. They harvest grapes in fall and sell them on the local open market. Lela and her sister-in-law also produce cheese from the milk produced by the dairy cows and sell it on local open market. Finally, Lela is also involved in the fruit and vegetable trade. She purchases greengrocery products from local farmers and sells them on the local open market.
