She is a businesswoman who works in the creation of baby clothes for baptisms. Her previous loans helped her in important ways since they allowed her to grow her business since she used them to purchase raw materials such as cloth, thread, needles, laces and elastic, among others -- all the raw materials she needed to create the dresses that the women who passed through her shop admiring her work ordered. This loan will allow her to increase her income because she will invest in her business. Her future plans are to continue working with the help of Kiva to improve the level of life of her family.

La señora Nidya cliente de nuestra institución inicia su tercer crédito kiva, casada, madre de 2 hijos mayores de edad de vida independiente. Ella es comerciante se dedica a la elaboración de ropa de bebe para bautizos, los créditos anteriores le ayudaron en gran manera ya que le permitieron crecer en su negocio pues lo utilizo para comprar materia prima como tela, hilos y todos los accesorios para sus trajes. Este tercer préstamo al igual lo invertirá en mercadería para su producción como tela, hilos, agujas, encajes, elásticos, entre otros, toda la materia prima necesaria para elaborar los trajes que le encargan las madres que pasan por su negocio admirando su trabajo. Este crédito le permitirá incrementar sus ingresos porque invertirá en su negocio, sus planes futuros es seguir trabajando con el apoyo de kiva para mejorar el nivel de vida de su familia.

Concurrent and Successive Loans

Our Field Partners often work with borrowers over a series of loans as the borrowers build credit, take out bigger loans, and expand their businesses. In order to make it easier for our Field Partners to post loans for borrowers who have been listed on Kiva before, we allow them to post successive and concurrent loans for their Kiva borrowers. This means that our Field Partners are able to post a borrower's second, third, etc., loan on Kiva without having to re-enter all of the borrower's information.

This borrower has been listed on Kiva before, so you'll see an updated loan description, as well as excerpts of the original descriptions from earlier loans. Most borrowers take out loans consecutively, meaning that they receive a second loan after having repaid the first. However, sometimes our Field Partners give out concurrent loans, allowing borrowers to take out one primary loan and a secondary "add-on" loan along with it. These "add-on" loans are typically smaller than the borrower's primary loan and serve a different purpose. Because Field Partners can now post loans as successive and concurrent loans, you will be able to track borrower progress over time and see the various ways a borrower is working with our Field Partners through funds from Kiva’s lenders.
