Perla Esmeralda

Nicaragua
Granada, Nicaragua / Clothing Sales

A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase seasonal merchandise for Mothers' Day, such as blouses, shoes, jeans and skirts.

Perla Esmeralda's story

Perla is a straightforward mother who lives in the department of Granada. She has three children who are currently in school. She works in retail selling clothing, an activity that she began when she was 27 to feel helpful to her husband by having her own business, as he is a cobbler and has his own business himself. This is her first business as previously she helped out her husband in his workshop. Perla sells her products in Granada, and has additional income provided by her husband's shoe business.

She is requesting this loan to purchase seasonal merchandise for Mothers' Day, such as blouses, shoes, jeans and skirts. She expects the loan to help her because she will be able to stock up her business, which will allow her to increase her sales, improving her income at the same time. Her plans for the future are to have a more stable and secure business so as to use her space for better presentation. Her next goal is to continue working so that she can get ahead in life and meet the needs of her customers.
