A loan of $2,375 helped a member to buy merchandise.

Las Nuevas Group's story

The “Las Nuevas” (The New Ones) is composed of three hardworking, enterprising people. One of them is María de los Ángeles, 34. She’s married and has a little one-year-old daughter. She sells fried fast-food and soft-drinks, a business she started 15 years ago selling fried plantain with cheese. She gradually increased it buying tables and chairs. With the previous loan she managed to buy two stoves that she needed and some tables. She will use this loan to buy products for the business and wants to use profits to do some home improvements.

The other group members are María Teresa who has sold mobile phone recharges, perfume, cosmetics and clothes for four years and María Ivania who has had a jewelry store for 30 years.
