A loan of $300 helped to buy a bag of seeds, two bags of fertilizer and a liter of herbicide.

Gabriel Arcangel's story

Gabriel, 23, is single living with his parents and a brother. Since he was little his father taught him how to work because they are poor and can’t continue with their studies but must start working.

He rises at 4:30am to milk two cows his father has and then he drinks a cup of coffee. Later the heads out to leave the cows and he stays to work the field because he likes to get there early to use his time efficiently and then he returns at 1pm to rest a little and then go out to feed the cows. To buy supplies, Gabriel must walk for thirty-five minutes to catch the bus that takes him to the city and the bus takes fifty minutes to arrive.

The loan he’s asking Fundación Campo for is to buy a bag of seeds, two bags of fertilizer and a liter of herbicide. In this way he will be able to plant because winter has arrived and if there are crops, there is hope of having corn to eat and to feed his chickens.

He wants to work hard and to save because he comments that he wants to plant more land to get married and form his own family and to have a house of his own since he lives with his parents.
