Pc 2 Tefess Femme Marayeuse Group's story

This association groups together 26 women who live in the same district and surrounding neighbourhoods, and who are members of a "banc villageois" created on the 2nd of September 2008. The women are united by common social bonds and are principally small retailers.

Sanou (standing on the right of the picture) is a 52-year-old married woman and mother of 5 children, 2 boys and 3 girls. She has been selling fish for over 20 years. Her new loan of 50 000 francs will enable her to buy baskets of fish which she will resell, retail, at the beach. She intends to use her profits to build a house and to take care of her family's food needs.
