A loan of $1,675 helped to buy organic fertilizer and coffee plants.

Rogaciano's story

It was his parents that taught Rogaciano and his brothers how to work in coffee plantations, since they were young, as his family has been in this trade for generations now.

Rogaciano is married with María Del Rocío and have 2 young children, whom they will have already started to teach simple things about the coffee, as it is customary; when they will be a little older the children will contribute at work. María Del Rocío helps him carry out tasks at the coffee farm and during the last harvest they had an output of 14 tons of organic coffee, which was not treated with chemical fertilizers; all this output was given to the "Huatusco Regional Union", to be exported.

Rogaciano has a total of 6,000 sown plants, and he wants to sow 6,000 more to take advantage of all his land and to have, in 3 years, a total of 12,000 plants producing coffee; in this way he will double his harvest and profits.

This is the reason why he wants a loan, as it is necessary to buy organic fertilizer, coffee plants, as well as doing cleanup works on his lot. Rogaciano and his wife hope to have a better harvest this year, which will help them to invest the profits in a shop that they want to open soon.
