A loan of $5,875 helped a member to increase food stock to sell to more people and to make more trips upcountry and buy more rice.

Nissan Group's story

Nasra, who is in her early 30s, is single with two children who go to school. She has been running two businesses as a food vendor and selling rice for 10 years now. She works from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be Nasra's ninth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. With the previous loans, she restocked the missing items in the food store; paid school fees and household expenses; and started selling rice, which she collects from upcountry. She has paid back all her loans successfully.

Nasra wants a loan to increase food stock to sell to more people and to make more trips upcountry and buy more rice. Her dream is to one day be able to build her own house.

Nasra will share this loan with her loan group "Nissan," which has a total of 15 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.

In this group: Nasra, Happyness, Mwanakombo, Zaina, Hadija, Alfredy, Maida, Mosi, Martin, Saida, Elizabeth, Neema, Mwanamiua, Asha, Hidaya
