A loan of $750 helped a member to buy fertilizers for her farmland and bowls for her rubber business.

Im's Group's story

Im, 32, is a married mother of three children. She lives with her family in a rural village located in the Dambae district of Cambodia. To make a living, she has been planting cassava and rubber for several years. With her current business, she is able to make an income of around 25,000 KHR per day to support her family. The main challenge is the drop in the price of cassava. Im’s group consists of three members who live in the same village. Im is leading her group to apply for a first loan with Kiva’s field partner, VisionFund, for 1,000,000 KHR each. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizers for her farmland and use a portion of it to buy bowls for her rubber business. She hopes this loan will enable her to make a better living.
