Luisa's story

Luisa is a member of the “Las Lomas De Yarina” communal bank of the Yarinacocha district and Ucayali department. She’s 61 years old, widowed, and has two adult children.

She’s been working for two years with the Manuela Ramos Movement loan program and the loans granted have helped her grow her business, the buying and selling of sewing machines and frames.

With the money from this new loan of 1,000 PEN, she will buy various sewing machine spare parts, 25 bobbins, 15 machine shoes, 12 machine belts, 50 throwers, 10 pads, 2 used machines in need of repair, and 3 sewing machine frames.

Her business is located on one of the busiest streets where she is, every day and every day of the week. This is her only business, which allows her to live comfortably and also generate work because she has someone who helps her repair the machines.

She is grateful to the Manuela Ramos Movement for giving her the opportunity to work with these loans to improve her business.
