A loan of $1,125 helped to stock her store.

Dora's story

Dora is 49 years old and is a dynamic hardworking woman with a great desire to get ahead. Pedro, her husband is a merchant and the father of her two children. She lives with her husband and youngest son (age 14). They own their home, which she managed to buy with great effort, and her husband’s help.

She is in the grocery business, so she set up a store in her home with her and her husband’s savings. At first she began with small purchases, succeeding at selling all her merchandise. Thanks to the nice welcome she had, she began buying larger quantities and moving ahead. She began this business two years ago, and this time allowed her to become better known to her customers. She also sells used cars. She fixes them up and resells them at a profit. What she likes about her business is being able to count on an income that allows her to help her husband pay the household expenses.

This will be her fifth loan through MFP and she is happy to be able to count on financial support that allows her to get ahead with her business. She is committed to being on time with her payments, as she was with previous loans.

She will invest the 3,000 PEN in groceries in quantity, and she believes that the larger inventory will help her customers prefer her. She will also use part of the money to paint and repair a used car for resale.
