Fortune Plus Group's story

Musitu is the group’s leader. His group named “Fortune Plus” consists of 15 micro entrepreneurs who are united for the goal of growing their businesses through loans received from Kiva through IMF HOPE RDC.
Musitu earns his living by selling spare car parts, a business he started many years ago. He is 51 years old, married and the father of eight children between nine and 28. He has received two loans from Microfinance Institution HOPE DRC and fully repaid them. He intends to use this loan to expand his inventory. He will buy more spare parts in bulk for resale to increase his working capital and profit. He will seek to earn more profit by selling more goods preferred by his customers. His ambition is to expand his business which is well located in the eastern suburban area of Kinshasa.
