Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Nama Group's story

This group called Nama consists of four members (Adila, Nama, Mriam and Sonia) who live in Aden, Yemen. They applied for a loan of 320,000 YER.

Mriam is a 50-year-old married woman. She is the second woman from the right in the photo. She established her clothing and incense businesses three years ago. She describes her biggest challenge as insufficient funds for improving her business.

She requests a loan of 80,000 YER from AMB to buy more clothing such as jeans, dresses, t-shirts, incense and shoes. The extra income from this loan will allow her to increase her profit. In the future, she plans to expand her business and build a house. She thanks you for your support.
