Jackline is 38 years old and lives in the town of Kinubi in the Hoima region of Uganda. She is married and has 5 children who are all currently in school. For the past 8 years, Jackline has been working hard to manage her retail business, which sells sugar, salt and Blue Band (a type of margarine).

To help expand her business, Jackline has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more sugar, salt and Blue Band margarine for resale, and will help Jackline to generate greater profits and open up more branches of the same business. Jackline hopes that in the future she will be able to construct commercial houses.

Jackline is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Jackline who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
