A group of neighbors and friends formed the “Allin Llankaqcuna de Chichubamba” communal bank in the community of Chichubamba in Cusco Department’s Urubamba Province. This communal bank is composed of people who seek at all times opportunities to get ahead by means of their daily efforts to provide a better future for their children. The economic activities of the members are, for example: guinea-pig and chicken sales, coffee and chocolate making, vegetable and flower sales. Others are in agriculture and some provide transportation services.

Alcione’s main economic activity is making ceramics. She has a workshop at home where she manufactures her products. She’s been in this business for 11 years already and she does very well thanks to the effort she puts into her business. On this occasion, Alcione needs the loan to buy supplies like paint, clay, glass and pigments. Alcione’s dream is to export her products and to attend international expositions.

The members in general are grateful for the opportunity provided and commit to make their various installment payments according to the established schedule.
