A loan of $825 helped to buy a piece of land.

Jovia's story

Jovia is a 40-year-old widow. She has five children and a dependent. She has to meet all of their needs and therefore does agriculture to sustain her family, as she lives in the countryside. Jovia grows beans, millet, and bananas, which she uses for her household and also sells in case she has any pressing demands like paying school fees. She supplements her income from agriculture with a small retail shop, where she sells day-to-day home use items.

Jovia now wants 2,000,000 Ugandan shillings (UGX) to buy a piece of land so that she can expand her farm and also graze animals. She is limited by the small piece of land at the moment. She hopes to buy a bigger piece of land when she gets money.

Jovia is hard working, which is why she has been able to sustain her family after the death of her husband.
