Don’T Worry Group's story

Meet the members of the “Don’t Worry” group from Makeni, a city in northern Sierra Leone. They are all local entrepreneurs who have come to SMT, a partner of Kiva to apply for a loan of 2,500,000 Sierra Leonean Leones (SLL) for the entire group. With the help of this loan they will be able to expand their businesses, make more sales and consequently improve their living conditions.

Aminata is the leader of this group. A native of Port Loko town in northern Sierra Leone, Aminata is married and has three children – two in primary school and one in secondary school. Aminata has been a businesswoman for five years now. She sells clothes and shoes. With the help of this loan, she is going to buy dozens of clothes and shoes to add to her business.
