A loan of $1,500 helped to purchase a Tuk Tuk for her husband to run the taxi service.

Ra's story

Ra is 48 years old. She is a mother of three children and resides with her husband in Prey Veng Province, Cambodia. She has been involved in growing rice and fattening up pigs for more than 20 years, earning approximately $3 per day. Her husband is employed in the government. He earns about $3 per day. Two of her children are employed in garment factory. They earn about $5 per day.

In order to improve her family’s finance, Ra is requesting a loan of $1500 to purchase a Tuk Tuk for her husband to run the taxi service. This purchase will enable her husband to generate extra income to support the family. In the future, she would like to expand her business and help her youngest child earn a bachelor’s degree. Also, she plans to build a fence around her house as soon as possible.
