Akosua's story

Akosua operates a grocery shop at Ampenyin near Elmina, which she has done for 15 years. She sells "gari" (cassava flakes), rice, tinned fish, tinned tomatoes, Milo (drink powder), different kinds of drinks, biscuits, toffees, milk, soap, etc. She is married to a fisherman.

Akosua uses her income to help her husband to pay their utility bills. She will use her loan to purchase a variety of groceries to sell. With the new profit, Akosua plans to expand her business.
