A group of women with inicitiave and good proposals when it comes to having a business nowadays, are the women of the group called Active Women which is composed of six members. It started nine years ago. These are women who were able to suceed in spite of any obstacles that came their way. Proof of that is Mrs. Jacinta president of the group Active Women. She is 52 years old, has a partner, and has four grown-up children. Every day she works hard in the grocery store that has provided an income for more than seven years. She started this business because she did not have enough money to cover household expenditures. She built a grocery store in her home and day by day spends more hours of her free time selling cosmetics. She will use the loan to buy groceries. Mrs. Jacinta is only one of 6 members who work hard and with enthusiasm for their families' well-being.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
