A loan of $5,025 helped a member to buy more fish and clothes for resale.


Kasuku Group's story

Halima, who is in her mid-30s, is married with two children in school She has been running two businesses, fish sales and clothes sales, for ten years now. She works from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm daily and is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be her second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loan to start selling clothes, increase her fish stock, and pay household expenses and has paid back her loan successfully. She wants a loan to buy more fish and more clothes to resell. Her dream is to one day be able to own a big clothing shop.

Halima will share this loan with her loan group "Kasuku" which has a total of 18 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
