Kalinisa's story

Kalinisa is 60 years old and is married. She is the primary breadwinner for her family. Since 1978, Kalinisa has been raising livestock, having started her business with 1,000 Kyrgyz soms (KGS) or approximately $21 USD. Today, Kalinisa has 35 sheep, three breeding cows, a bull and a horse. She brings in approximately 10,000 KGS ($213 USD) per month selling milk and dairy products. To further grow her business, Kalinisa applied for a loan from Bai Tushum and Partners, requesting 135,000 KGS to purchase purebred yearling calves. Kalinisa plans to invest the income from her loan to further develop her business.
