A loan of $750 helped to buy "camu camu" fruit and plastic bags.

Ivonne's story

Sra. Ivonne is a member of the Communal Bank "Las Lomas de Yarina" (The Hills of Yarina), which is located in the District of Yarinacocha, Department of Ucayali. She is 40 years old and has four dependent children. Her oldest child is finishing high school.

Ivonne has a small family business that operates out of her house. Her business is equipped with machines that process "camu camu" fruit.

With this new loan of 2,000 PEN, Ivonne will buy 20 crates of "camu camu" and 5 packets of plastic bags for packaging the processed pulp. She shares the duties with her husband and two other employees who help when the fruit arrives from the plant. In recent days, fruit production has declined.

In the seven years she has worked with Manuela Ramos, Ivonne has demonstrated growth in her business, which represents the future for her entire family because it will enable her to invest in her child's college education.
